Dear Animal interweaves two stories. In the first story, a woman sends letters to friends, writing of the world she is trying to leave behind and the new one she is learning to inhabit. In the second, a group of small drug dealers find themselves in an odd situation, in which their business and the power relations ordering their world are in jeopardy. An animal, real or imagined, brings both stories together and apart.
